No exceptions allowed, even if period music plays over the sound system.Tents/vendors far enough apart that snores and sales pitches are n [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="paragraph">So the last reenactment has come, and I'm moving on to new stuff, new costumed events, new books -&nbsp; new everything - at 80.&nbsp;<br /><br />Chadd's Ford and Sandi Johnson showed what an ideal historical event should be.<br />How I wish that all event planners knew the essentials listed below:<ul><li>Music in several venues on the site - or even just one! But you have to have it. No exceptions allowed, even if period music plays over the sound system.</li><li>Tents/vendors far enough apart that snores and sales pitches are not heard by neighbors</li><li>The "new" extra-size porta-johns wherein a lady <em>en costume </em>feels comfortable should her skirts touch the perfectly dry floor.</li><li>Multiple food sources.</li><li>A clear radio-announcer-type voice narrating the timeline of the battle during the reenactment.</li><li>One cannot emphasize enough that cheap sound systems don't help anyone!</li></ul><br /><ul><li>Almost never does a promoter reach out after the event, but Sandi did. I was unable to suggest anything to improve... except maybe Sunday's weather....</li></ul><br /><br /><br /></div>]]></content:encoded></item></channel></rss>
